How much does a website cost in Kerala? What you actually pay for

"How much does a website cost?" is the first question most business owners ask us, and the honest answer is: it depends on what the website needs to do. This guide breaks a website quotation into its parts so you can compare offers properly and avoid surprises later.
The one-time cost: design and development
This is the work of planning, designing and building the site. It is usually priced by the number of pages and features. A simple 5-page business website (home, about, services, gallery, contact) costs much less than an online store with a product catalogue, cart and payment gateway.
For reference, our own website packages are:
- Basic — ₹9,999: up to 5 pages, responsive design, basic SEO, contact form, WhatsApp button, 1 month support.
- Standard — ₹19,999: up to 10 pages, advanced SEO setup, lead capture, Google Analytics, speed optimisation, 3 months support.
- Premium — ₹34,999: unlimited pages, custom design, advanced SEO and speed work, Search Console, blog and e-commerce-ready options, 6 months support.
Prices are before GST. E-commerce sites with many products, custom features or integrations are quoted on scope.
The recurring costs: domain, hosting and email
These are paid every year, usually to third-party providers:
- Domain name (yourbusiness.com or .in) — renewed yearly.
- Hosting — the server your website runs on. Cheap hosting is often slow, and a slow site loses both visitors and Google rankings.
- Business email — optional, priced per mailbox.
- SSL certificate — needed for the padlock and "https". Many hosting plans include it.
Make sure the domain is registered in your name. If an agency registers it in theirs, moving later can be difficult.
Content: text, photos and video
A website is only as good as what it says. If you provide your own text and photos, the cost stays low. If you need professional writing, product photography or a promotional video, budget for it separately. Good content is also what helps a website rank on Google.
SEO: setup versus ongoing work
Basic SEO — page titles, meta descriptions, a sitemap, fast loading and Search Console — should be part of any professional website. Ranking for competitive searches like "best clinic in Kochi" needs ongoing work every month: content, technical improvements and local SEO. That is a separate monthly service, and it is worth being suspicious of anyone who guarantees a number-one position.
Maintenance and support
Websites need updates, backups and the occasional fix. Check how long free support lasts after launch and what monthly maintenance costs after that.
Questions to ask before you pay an advance
- How many pages and which features are included?
- Are domain, hosting, email and GST included or extra?
- Who owns the domain, website files and content?
- Is the site mobile-friendly and set up for Google?
- How long is support included, and what does maintenance cost after that?
- What is the timeline, and what do you need from me?
A clear written quotation answers all of these. If you would like one for your business, send us your requirements or WhatsApp us — we usually reply within a working day.
